Spring Break is almost a week away! For those of who are worried that vacation will prevent you from reaching your fitness goals, have no fear!
We are here to give you a few tips and small workouts that can be done in your hotel room to help start each day off on the right foot! Want to challenge yourself even more? Create a circuit out of these exercises, alternating between 20 seconds of exercise and 10 seconds of rest. Then repeat!
Here are a few exercises you can do in your hotel room or maybe even on the beach!
Mountain Climbers or Burpees.
These are great since they don’t take up much space and work almost every muscle in the body. They also get your heart pounding and are great to add to a circuit style workout. To change up your scenery, set out a towel on the beach and do some burpees with a view of the ocean.
Do these for a minute at a time then rest. These are great for the lower body (mainly quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes).
Ah, the classic. Pushups work the back, triceps, biceps, chest and even the abdomen. Try to do as many pushups as you can without resting! If you get tired, rest for a little then do it again. You could even challenge a friend on the beach to a pushup contest!
A sturdy chair or desk in the room is a perfect bench for tricep dips! .
If the hotel has a stairway from ground level to top and you are feeling ambitious, running stairs is a great way to break a sweat before you start your day. Run up the stairs as fast as possible and jog down. Try not to hold onto the railing! You got this!
Aside from exercise, staying healthy on Spring Break can also include making sure you put on enough sunscreen and drink lots of water, especially if you are visiting locations where it is hot and you will be out in the sun. Bring your own snacks to keep eating healthy and give you energy to enjoy the day and explore more. Whether you are going home or out of the country, have a safe and enjoyable break and don’t forget to work hard, get fit and live well !
